From the Life of a Husband, Dad, and Outdoorsman

Every song starts with a true story.

I grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, where the outdoors, my family, and music have always been a big part of my life. Those same things inspire the songs I write today.

I'm a husband, father, and outdoorsman, and the songs I write are shaped by the life I've lived. Losing my mom to cancer in 2019 changed my life forever. It was during that season that my faith in Jesus became the anchor of my life. Every song I write is shaped by that journey.

I don’t like putting myself in one musical box. Some of my songs are Christian, some tell hunting stories, some are love songs about my lovely wife, and others are messages to my kids. But every song starts the same way, with something that happened in my life. No matter what I’m writing about, I make it a point to weave in a nod to God and the faith that carries me through life.

My music began in church and grew through some of the most meaningful moments in my life, including the first original song I performed for my wife, Tara, on our wedding day. I hope my songs encourage people, remind them they aren’t alone, and point them a little closer to Jesus. If they do that, they’ve done exactly what I hoped they would.
